Content Strategy and Planning
Most video briefs arrive with the production already decided. The client knows they want a film — but the harder questions haven't been asked yet: what needs to be said, to whom, and in which formats to achieve maximum effect.
We provide content strategy and planning for brands who want to approach that stage properly, identifying a range of strategically-grounded options and viable creative routes before any video production budget is committed.
What is content strategy?
We help brands identify the story they need to tell, the audience they're telling it to, and the most effective way to reach them. For most clients, that means video, but it also means understanding where video fits within a broader content plan, how it should be distributed, and what a connected programme of content might look like across other channels and formats. The output is a clear content strategy and a production plan that follows from it, rather than a production plan in search of a strategy.

How does it work?
What the process looks like
The process begins with a discovery session, either in person or remotely, in which we cover:
What your brand needs to communicate and who your audience is
What that audience already knows, thinks, or believes
Where that audience primarily consumes media content
Any video content you have already made, and what your key competitors are doing
Primary and secondary messaging, pain points, misconceptions and barriers
What success looks like (and how it will be measured)
What a realistic, costed programme of content would look like
The discovery session is a paid engagement followed by additional research to produce a written content strategy document and a recommended production plan complete with costings.
Who is it for?
Brands and organisations
It works for brands who are planning a significant video production or content programme and want to get the strategy right before committing to production, particularly those who have commissioned video before and found that the brief wasn't clear enough, or the content didn't perform as expected.
It also works well for companies that are looking to produce video content for the first time and want to establish a solid strategic foundation for their content.
It also suits people at larger brands and organisations who want an experienced and independent perspective on their content approach, without the overhead of engaging a full-service content strategy agency.
We don’t offer social media management.
Why choose us?
Strategy and production combined
Strategy and execution in video production are usually separated: an agency develops the plan; a production company makes it. That model can and does work. But the risk is that you end up with a disconnect — a strategy that sounds right on paper but isn’t realistic in practice, or that doesn't translate into something your audience wants to watch.
We bring expertise in both areas together under one roof. Our strategic thinking is always shaped by more than a decade of experience in what actually works on screen, for different channels, and in different formats. We don't develop content plans we can't execute, and we don't start production without having a plan we believe in.
